Ashley is a Clinical Psychologist practising in Garsfontein, Pretoria, South Africa and online.

She places a significant emphasis on the power of relationships – the ones we have with others and the ones we have with ourselves. She believes that the quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives. Our relationships are powerful mirrors that can reflect and reveal the parts of ourselves we hide or avoid. In confronting these parts of ourselves, we are provided meaningful opportunities to understand ourselves better. She believes it is through this insight that change and growth is made possible. It is utilising this healing dynamic which makes therapy a profoundly transformative process.

Life is tough and unpredictable! It is always meaningful for me to work with another human-being towards understanding how their difficulty manifests in their lives. Even more exciting is the collaboration between us, towards resolving the difficulty!

My practice sets out to provide general psychotherapeutic services to adults of all ages. I do however have a long standing focus on traumatic stress and related themes. Even though psychological trauma is part of life, the impact of trauma is unique to an individual -so is the mastering over the impact!

When we master the impact of traumatic stress we reconnect with others, as our relationships flourish and our well-being improves we find purpose, efficacy and a sense of positive self worth.

I am registered as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. I practice from an Integrative Interactional Psychotherapy (Applied Systems Theory) frame. In addition I have also obtained both Primary and Advanced Certification in a form of CBT known as Rational Emotive & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (RECBT).This training was presented by the Albert Ellis Institute (New York) during 2017 and 2020 in Cape Town South Africa. I am also certified in hypnotherapy with the National Guild of Hypnotists.
