Ashley Chetty – Clinical Psychologist
Location: Pretoria and Online

I am a HPCSA registered clinical psychologist with a passion for working with the complexities of the human condition.
I work primarily from a psychodynamic framework with a special interest in attachment-based therapy and self-psychology. However, I do not believe in a “one size fits all” approach. I focus on tailoring interventions to meet each client's unique needs and utilise my training and experience in a variety of therapeutic modalities to accommodate each client.
I place significant emphasis on the power of relationships – the ones with have with others and the ones we have with ourselves. I believe that the quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives. Our relationships are powerful mirrors that can reflect and reveal the parts of ourselves we hide or avoid. In confronting these parts of ourselves, we are provided meaningful opportunities to understand ourselves better. I believe it is through this insight that change and growth is made possible. It is utilising this healing dynamic which makes therapy a profoundly transformative process.
I offer in-person and online psychotherapy services. I consult with individuals (adults and adolescents 12 years and older), couples, families, and groups. My approach to therapy focuses on fostering a sense of safety, collaboration, and trust with my clients as we work towards alleviating distress and enacting change.
My areas of interest include: anxiety disorders, depressive disorder, bipolar and related mood disorders, personality disorders, substance use and addiction, eating disorders, trauma, grief and loss, burnout, and various relationship complexities and difficulties.
