Waking Up by Sam Harris

If you are grappling with your own religious beliefs, or get easily offended by aggressive atheism, Waking Up might not be the book for you.  For me personally, I figured a way out to meditate - be mindful - and still hold onto my version of religion.  So if you can look past Sam’s subtle stabs at all religions - you will receive the most precious gift - the ART of meditation - not just practicing it, but living it - moving into a mind space where you are truly awake, and appreciating life differently and for the first time.

Unfortunately the book, for me, only gained true value when I used it in conjunction with the app - Waking Up - which provides daily meditative learning.

Sam takes you through a journey of what’s real, and cuts through a lot of bullshit - quickly.  The point is be aware, be mindful, be real.  Sam will show you how.
